I finally emailed her around Day 10, and she told me her daughter was sick, but I’d get the articles the next day.
No dice.
The next problem was that something happened to her car. After that, she was sick. All of a sudden her house was in foreclosure, so she was panicking and needed to do something to earn a lot of money at once – perhaps I had more work for her?
!!!
By the time I finally got the work – a month or so late – the articles were awful to say the least. They looked like they were written in a rush by someone who not only had no knowledge about my niche but didn’t even speak English.
To say I was aggravated would be an understatement. I half-heartedly paid for the second half even though I had to rewrite all the articles myself. I figured it would take more time to explain the problems than to just redo everything – especially now that I was behind deadline.

For some reason, I couldn’t get internet access in ANY of those places. The first resort didn’t offer it. The second resort had been affected by a storm and their electricity was down. The third resort DID have internet, but for some reason it simply wouldn’t work when I was in the room. It worked fine for my best friend, but as soon as I would walk in, it would stop. It was the weirdest thing ever and even got to the point where my best friend was trying to find excuses to be in the room without me.
I’ve got to admit – I was freaking out a little bit. I wanted to at least check my emails and see what was happening. It blew my mind!
That was a turning point for me, and it made me start seeing what else I could outsource.
